In this semester, I have read the book Pride and Prejudice in English version. Pride and Prejudice is one of my favoritebooks. In this book, Jane Austen shows us different ways and attitudes toward marriage by describing four love stories in the book. Many people may simply regard Pride and Prejudice as a love story, but in my opinion, this novel reflects the English human sentiment of the end of 18th century and the early of 19th century under the circumstance of masterpiece ofJane Austenperfectly reflected the relation between money and marriage at that , it reveal the author herself attitude towards marriage, that is love and marriage based on money, property and social status is not perfect, but it is also stupid without considering all of these.
In this book, Jane Austengave the people vivid characters have their own personalities. When I read the book, I can always find the same personalities in the society now. That is why I think this book is indeed the representative of the society in Britain in the 18th that is why I like it.
The character in this book I like best is Elizabeth. From where I stand, Elizabeth is unique. From story to see, Elizabeth has both resourcefulness and courage. She has vision and very strong self-respect. What’s more, she is good at thinking. She owns her views and behaves properly. In the novel, expresses his love and wants to marry her, she can promptly refuse him. Furthermore, when Darcy’s aunt arrogantly puts forward her requirement that Elizabeth should reject , she firmly turns down her offensive requirement. From it, we can see that Elizabeth has her own persistence of love and never stop pursuing. Of course at first Elizabeth also displays significant pride. Though not influenced by economic status, Elizabeth is most proud of her ability of perception. Although it is her wrong perception which causes her to misjudge and also Wickham, when Elizabeth hears of Wickham’saccusations of Darcy, she trusts the negative perception of him, and mistakenly views Darcy’sconceit. Fortunately she finally eliminated her prejudice to him when she got an acquaintance of what Darcy did for her, because they give up prejudice to each other, the can have a happy my opinion, the personality ethic of Elizabeth caused her independent idea of love and marriage and in consequence she earned a happy life.
The language used in this book is one of the reason I like the book. Humorous, ironical, polished language and real storyline occurred in this articlegive me a deep Austen was only 21 when she wrote “Pride and Prejudice”, her sharp observation of social lives makes the style of this book surprisingly mature and lively. The plots in her works are always very natural. The development of the plot is as inevitable as a problem in mathematics.
In a word, Pride and Prejudice has delighted me with its ingenious plot, brilliant dialogue, and inventiveassortment of unique characters. Iwas completely attracted to this book. And in the near future, I will choose other works of Jane Austen to read. Maybe the next book I will choose is Sense and Sensibility.

Impreions of Pride and Prejudice
I’ve read a book called Pride and Prejudice written by Jane Austen during thiummer Austen was unmarried all her was brought up in a comfortable environment , so there’s not too many conflictsin her Pride and Prejudice she talked different ideas about love and marriage through different characters.
WhenIfirst longbefore,, I find it’sfarmore thanalove story , it’salsothereflection ofthe society.
A good book not only can bring you exciting ,but also give you some further thinking .From their love story I realize that it’s stupid to judge a person just by the first impreion and always have prejudice on the person who you dislike, and pride sometimes will make you far away from the people.
In a word, we can’t judge a person without any further recognize or by other people’s words!
LoveTypes
My understanding and half-finish of the book Pride and Prejudice, its movie helps me a great a clear idea about each person?ˉs emotions?¢feelings and traits, I fully understand it, which I find completely neceary to speak highly of as an exceeding affecting love story, though sadne(Elizabeth, with whose head the detestation towards who appears to be highly proud ?¢superior and conceited at everyone?ˉs first sight, filled at their first meet in the ball) spreads as soon as the story begins, a happy end, turn out to be at length.
This well-known to every family story, which is about love between a beautiful young lady and a handsome young gentleman., written by Jane former lives in countryside with four other sisters brought up in family without even a tutor, while the latter raised in strict ?¢traditional rules, inculcated with polite breeding and earns ten thousand pounds per year.
At then circumstance, in which fierce well-matched marriage value was still deeply rooted in every member?ˉs poibility of their love leads them to marriage appears to be out of : the disinclinations, which Elizabeth has nothing except ,towards after in the ball her ask to dance with him sooner places she the trust in Officer Wickham?ˉs malicious prejudice against him, besides increasing the detestation, she is even so a little bit fond of Wickham that she can?ˉt prevent herself from looking for him in the ball held in Netherfield where ˉs friend- lives, and disappointment swelled after finding his this, the impoibility of Elizabeth?ˉs marry Darcy seems to be months later, she happens to overhear it?ˉs separated from Jane, her eldest sister, the hatred increases sharply to the , one of her sisters Lydia elopes with Wickham, who secretly ask her father for a huge amount of event confirms Wickham?ˉs dark character which has been mentioned in ˉs explanation letter given to seems to melt slowly; Elizabeth seems to begin to trust him a another good news later to be is that she accidentally learns the it was again shoulder the whole cost of Lydia?ˉs wedding with spills the beans when she lost herself in moment on hearing this, she is greatly shocked, then highly touched, finding she has wronged?? all the way, hearty saying with tears in eyes to her father when facing ˉs proposal ?°I do, I do like love he has no improper is perfectly amiable?± .The ice hitherto entirely melts which always stands before a hearty end, everybody seems to know, they living in forever felicity, just as kinds of person I consider there are in this book, according
to attitude towards archetype , which can be applied to even now, comes from and goes back to allude to the relevant social first one is as fine model, who took the advantage of his poeion of ˉs house to propose to Elizabeth, then refused, but ridiculously thinks her repeated refusal is usual with young ladies to reject the addrees of man whom they secretly meant to , he hopelely marries Charlottle, Elizabeth?ˉs kind is self-conceited?¢proud?¢unauming and ignorant, similar to those who consider everyone would marry money, and treat love as trade, or just intent to find a life-long companion instead of a life-long lover, when they being at marry word: They follow their age, not feeling from the bottom of heart.
The second is Lydia as good example, similar to those who always take a shine to lady-killers at the first sight, and so blindly fall in love that leave aside family member?ˉs cares and advices, resulting in easily taken in for their light love (if it can be called love) which ruined their felicity in return.
The two above both are love anybody ever thought of one who combines both of them answer is , who eager to introduce all her daughters to in the ball with the hope of one of them could be singled out; who screams out along with Lydia when seeing charming officers paing in line in the street; who coaxes and threats Elizabeth to accept ˉs offer of to those kinds of parents who always try every thing to make , sometimes even force their children to marry the last kind is Elizabeth?¢Jane?¢¢Mr..Bingley as fine examples.??They take affection serious, as a matter of entire matter poor?¢fortune?¢sick?¢healthy, as long as love make each other close, they will always go whole hog to carry on the entire life together, screw courages to overcome whatever threats?¢forces jump they have already realized what they are when finding whom they born to live with for the whole in the world could stop the book says so, so does the believe this kind of person will be forever happy, for following their real feelings and instinct, not money?¢fortune or anything else.
Truth be told, I didn?ˉt finish the book before the having watched its movie aures me what worthy reading and what fascinating to be got, convinces me to carry on and I?ˉm talking about may appear to be superficial, they are my inner voice indeed.
Pride and Prejudice is the most enduringly popular novel written by Jane Austen. It talks about trivial matters of love, marriage and family life between country squires and fair ladies in Britain in the 18th century. The plot is very simple. That is how the young ladies choose their husbands. Someone said that “Elizabeth Bennet, the protagonist of the novel, flatly rejected William Collins’ proposal, who is the heir of her father’s property and manor, and refused the first proposal from the extremely wealthy nobleman Fitzwilliam Darcy later,”(1) all this makes it clear that Elizabeth “seeks no fame nor fortune, but self-improvement and high mental outlook.”(1) It’s right. From the view point of Austen, Elizabeth’s marriage, who finally marries Darcy, as well as Jane-Bingley’s, composing money and love, is the ideal marriage people should after. But in other marriage cases in this novel, we can see that if money and love can’t be held together in one marriage, love would always make a concession to money because of the special social background. After reading through the whole book, we will find that money acts as the cause of each plot and the clue of its development. It affects everybody’s words and deeds, even Elizabeth Bennet. Tony Tanner once said, “Jane Austen, as well as other authors, is very clear that no feeling could be extremely pure and no motive could be definitely single. But as long as it is possible, we should make it clear that which feeling or motive plays the leading role.” (2)
The story of Pride and Prejudice took place in the time of the Regency in Britain. At that time, Britain was at the period of transition from the earlier stage of Capitalism to Capitalist Industrialization. In the countryside, the aristocratic family still held great power and right that country squires were likely to fawn upon them. However, as the development of Capitalism and the expand of the rank of rich people, the distinction between social strata was becoming smaller and smaller, while money was getting more and more important in people’s mind about social value. A western literature critic once said that “ even David Ricardo (a British economist) had a unlikely clearer understanding about the function of money in daily life as Jane Austen had.”(3) It is exactly because of the secure pledge in finance that the country squire society could be existing strongly and solidly.
Male and Female Attitudes towards Marriage
Pride and Prejudice is a novel written by Jane Austen,an English writer, who first gave the novel its modern characters through the treatment of everyday life.“It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in poeion of a good fortune must be in want of a little known the feelings or views of such a man may be on his first entering a neighborhood, this truth is so well fixed in the minds of surrounding families, that he is considered as the rightful property of some one or other of their daughters.” The novel directly begins with the theme: Marriage and Austen imposed her view of marriage on her describing of relationship among different males and to the novel, males and females in some degree have diffident values towards some main characters, we can have a comparison.
First, we throw our eyes to the male George Wickham for example, he is an old acquaintance of Darcy from childhood, and an officer in the militia unit stationed near charming, he rapidly forms a friendship with Elizabeth Benet, prompting remarks upon his suitability as a potential spreads numerous tales about the wrongs Darcy has done to him, coloring the popular perception of the other man in local is eventually revealed that these tales are distortions, and that Darcy was the wronged man in their is a man with bad quality, but his appearance is deceptive, he has a witty tongue and elegant behavior, who is a deadly attraction to women like he was addicted to gambling and escape from Breton because of a large amount of has neither high status nor money, but he is willing to have an accompanier on his escaping book never mentioned why Wickham choose Lydia as his primary reason, in my eyes, is he fell in love with Mi King and Elizabeth before not because of love but that time, Wickham can not have a large heritage because of his lower social status, so he is greedier for last, helped him to pay for his debts and provided him with another 1000 pounds and a official position, which immediately led to his we can easily see, in spite of paion, money played an important role in their , aged twenty-five, is ’s clergyman cousin and, as has no son, heir to his described him as _not a sensible man, and the deficiency of nature had been but little aisted by education or society.” He is a clumsy and conceit man and good at flattering, so he can easily appreciated
by and gets a position in chose Lady Lucas obviously attributed to expreed his reasons about marriage when he asked for Elizabeth’s hands:” First, that I think it a right thing for every clergyman in easy circumstances (like myself) to set the example of matrimony in his , that I can convinced it will add every greatly to my happine; and thirdly which perhaps I ought to have mentioned earlier, that it is the particular advice and recommendation of the very noble lady whom I have the honor of calling patrone.” So is a person who sacrifices his marriage to reality and reputation.
In spite of and ’s values, I think, Wickham and ’s attitudes toward marriage should be the majority of values at that pursue high status and money rather than how could they be happy? Their marriages are doomed to tragedies.
Now we will throw our eyes back to course, Elizabeth Benet is our first Bennet is the main character and reader sees the unfolding plot and the other characters mostly from her second of the Benet daughters at twenty years old, she is intelligent, lively, attractive, and witty, but with a tendency to judge on first impreions and perhaps to be a little selective of the evidence upon which she bases her believed that marriage must be based on love, which is one of the reasons why she misunderstood is such a girl with great wit, courage and self-conscience so that she is not polluted by society and keeps her own at last grasped ’s heart tightly and live a happy contrast to Elizabeth, her intimate friend Charlotte Lucas doesn’t think highly either of men or of matrimony, marriage had always been her believes that it is the only honorable provision for well-educated young women of small fortune, and however uncertain of giving happine, must be their pleasantest preservative from although to be sure was neither sensible nor agreeable; his society was irksome, and his attachment to her must be still, he would be her is a miserable marriage which put interest ahead of everything.
It seems a little bit difference between males and females’ attitudes towards completely regard money and status beyond everything while women conceal something in some degree but still be obseed by is an Austen expreed
marriage and love vividly among gentlemen and ladies around her by her specific female criticized the civil marriages through Elizabeth’s was obviously that the author not approved that money should be totally divided with love, but not equal to was true that money played an important role in marriage, but it not means one can gain love and marriage through his big author made full of other ladies’ relationships to expre the ideal marriage of Elizabeth.
I have the same opinion with Jane Austen on marriage and to the novel, the marriage based on money and reputation is not stable at all and people can not feel you admit or not, marriage and love do sometimes aociate with property and status, in my eyes, it not completely lies on property and should be based on mutual love and respect.
The man treat GRE at event in ones life with punishing, Demonstrate different attitudes to the love question of the marriage of young girl of the family origin of middle class of villages and towns, Thus reflected authors oneself;s marriage view: It is wrong to get married for the property, money and position; Get married and does not consider that above-mentioned factors are unwise too .
